Case Study
We are increasing the number of quotes a vendor can make by migrating this software to be used across platforms.
Conrad American started from humble roots in the late 60's in Houghton, Iowa. They grew to be one of the largest grain bin manufacturers in the United States. They've been a longtime client partner of ours - since 2014. We've traditionally worked on their public-facing marketing website, so we were very interested when they asked about us helping on their next project.
As an established manufacturer, they had built their own in-house Windows desktop software program that they wanted our help rebuilding and modernizing. The software allows vendors to generate their own grain bin quotes using real-time industry stock and pricing. Our challenge is taking a software that many vendors have used for years and making it mobile-friendly and a quick learning curve.
Just like computers, human brains have a limited amount of processing power. When the amount of information coming in exceeds our ability to handle it, we may take miss important details or abandon the task.

Users can get quickly overwhelmed with the amount of options, which can cause them to order the wrong parts or miss other important details. So, we've taken the vast amount of information from their desktop version and are designing with a user-flow focused approach. Once the user-flow is defined, we'll design the overall experience to be both desktop and mobile-friendly.
Previously, they were only able to create quotes from their work office desktops. Moving forward, vendors will be able to run quotes on any device and at any location - at work or on the field.
The data was set up to require one physical server. We're completely re-architecting the way their products, customers, and other data is associated to make this software more scalable. The new architecture enables the app to continue functioning as usual, even if they experience higher traffic or if one server goes down. Reduced downtime will allow their revenue to continue growing as well.
